Serie A side Roma have been linked with a move for Marseille attacker Mason Greenwood and manager Gian Piero Gasperini is increasingly desperate to land him.
Corriere dello Sport report today that the first offer from the Giallorossi is on the way.
Tony DโAmico is set to take office this week. This will help in making sure that Romaโs first offer will be at โฌ40 million, including bonuses of โฌ5 million. There is awareness that this wonโt be enough to close the deal largely because Manchester United have a 40% sell-on clause.
This will push Marseille to up their asking price, which currently stands at โฌ50 million. Contacts between Greenwoodโs entourage and Roma have never stopped, with the player keen on a move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Gasperini has a โreal obsessionโ to sign him and is driving the move forward. While Greenwood has an agreement over personal terms with Fenerbahce, Roma feel his desire to join them will be decisive.

Deal has obvious red flag
There is the obvious elephant in the room to be addressed, whenever there is talk about Greenwood. Roma may want to steer away from the move because of it, as signing the attacker will bring in scrutiny that the club can easily avoid.
The environment appears to be positive at the club after the chaos from Claudio Ranieriโs sacking. They wouldnโt to change that, especially considering the question marks around Greenwoodโs attitude.ย
