He only broke into the first team at the beginning of the current season, but 22-year-old midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli has already become a star at Fiorentina.
With this in mind, the club have made swift moves to offer the player an improved deal, and at a press conference on Thursday afternoon, the announcement was made official.
Viola sporting director Daniele Prade revealed to reporters that the contract will run until 2024 and has no buyout clause written into it.
“He is the future of Fiorentina,” revealed Prade. “He is a young man with a very strong personality. Now he must ensure he remains both humble and professional.”
