Samp-Roma postponement risk

Sunday’s match between Sampdoria and Roma could be postponed due to heavy rain, according to a report in Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa is prone to flooding and several fixtures in the past have been rescheduled when there is a large amount of rainfall in the area.

There is already an amber warning for rain forecast, as well as reports of potential high winds and thunderstorms. This is a continuation of bad weather that has been prevalent in the region for several days, leaving the pitch full of water already.

Claudio Ranieri is set to make his debut as the new Samp boss versus his former side Roma, should the match go ahead.
