Antonio Conte has the ambition of managing Manchester United but the club have reservations about his suitability to their structure.
This comes from La Repubblica, who have published a detailed report about the situation at United. They state that while United is ‘another ambition’ for the Italian and his ghost is already wandering in Manchester, the ex-Chelsea man is facing the resistence of the club’s Glazer ownership.
They believe that embarking on a long-term project with someone as demanding as Conte presents a lot of risks, especially considering how suddenly he bid farewell to his previous clubs. There are also doubts about Cristiano Ronaldo’s suitability to Conte’s approach and the outlet state that the Portuguese’s inability to press will not be liked by the Italian, who prefers workhorse strikers in his system.
The report goes onto state that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will stay on at the club till the time he has the support of Sir Alex Ferguson.
