Fiorentina boss Italiano on Vlahovic: “Leave him alone.”

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano has talked about Dusan Vlahovic, having defended the Serbian in public.

Vlahovic is not going to sign a new deal at La Viola and Rocco Commisso has confirmed that. There has been speculation that the striker could leave the club in January itself, with Juventus interested in the youngster.

Italiano spoke to Corriere dello Sport recently and he has defended the club’s star striker. The Italian said: “Leave him alone. He still has two years on his contract. He is a serious professional. He will give everything for Fiorentina and pushing hard he will, always.

“I hope extra football problems won’t interfere. And I’ll stop here. Talking now about how to replace him with the transfer market in three months, makes little sense.”

Vlahovic’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2023 and in the summer, he was linked with a move to Tottenham and Atletico Madrid.
