Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that he had all but sealed a move to Napoli after having watched Diego Maradonaโs documentary.
Ibrahimovic gave an in-depth interview to Corriere della Sera and he spoke about a range of topics. One of those was Maradona and his legacy.
The striker stated: โMaradona is a myth. Seeing a documentary about him made me decide to go to Napoli, to do it like Diego and win the Scudetto.
โI was tired of America. I thought about quitting and Mino told me: โyouโre crazy, you have to go back to Italyโ. It was all done with Napoli but then De Laurentiis chased Ancelotti out.โ
Maradonaโs first death anniversary was last week and Napoli beat 4-0 at the weekend to honour the Argentineโs legacy.
