Multiple outlets in Italy including Gazzetta dello Sport report this morning that celebrations for Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s 28th birthday ended in an intervention from local police and a fine for four Nerazzurri players – Lukaku himself, Achraf Hakimi, Ashley Young and Ivan Perišić.
After the team’s 3-1 win over Roma, the four made their way to a hotel near Milan’s Piaza del Duomo with some friends. At 3 in the morning, police intervened on the 24-person party, which was in violation of current Covid-19 regulations. As a result, all of the organisers and hosts – including the players – will be hit with fines. The club has yet to comment on the situation.
Sky Sport report that Lukaku’s management insists that although the Belgian had gone out with friends to celebrate his birthday, he had not organised the party in question.
