Radja Nainggolan slams Cagliari: “They dumped me.”

Former Inter and Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has slammed Cagliari for their approach towards him, claiming that they dumped him and he’s disappointed in the Sardinian club.

Nainggolan spent the previous season on loan at Cagliari and he has previously had a permanent stint at the club too. He was close to returning this summer, before he headed to Belgium.

In an interview with L’Unione Sarda, the Belgian has opened up about his disappointment with Cagliari and their failure to sign him.

He stated: They betrayed me, I’m disappointed. There was not a strong enough interest in me. I gave my availability, my priority was Cagliari, I always thought of coming back. I pressed the president Giulini and the director, but at a certain point they disappeared, they dumped me. I was very upset, the dream was to end my career in Cagliari. My will was clear.”

“Cagliari made some choices, they increased their salaries a year ago, but then the resources ran out and it was not possible to continue at this level. Yes, I made some mistakes, but my private life only concerns me. With my agent, we repeated to ourselves – “In the end we will end up at Cagliari again this time”. We hoped, we were convinced. Until the negotiation was mysteriously interrupted “
