Roma boss Mourinho after Torino win: “I prefer this over 5-0 wins.”

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has stated that he prefers to win 1-0 instead of picking up big 5-0 wins.

The Giallorossi did win 1-0 on Sunday as a Tammy Abraham goal proved to be the difference. It was a compact and solid performance from Mourinho’s men.

Mourinho spoke to DAZN after the game and stated: “We wanted to stay a little lower than usual because they spread out a lot with the two sides and it’s not easy for us to press with two forwards. We had to wait a bit and control ourselves with a lower block.

“We expected to score some goals plus because with the body of Zaniolo and Abraham and the connection with the players behind it could be done. I really like to win like this, I said before to the players: this victory gives me more pleasure than a 5-0 because it is a victory of concentration.”

Roma are now fifth in the league table and are three points behind fourth-placed Atalanta.
