André-Frank Zambo Anguissa set for Champions League return against Rangers

André-Frank Zambo Anguissa picked up a thigh injury in Napoli‘s 4-2 win over Ajax in the UEFA Champions League, ruling him out of the Serie A fixtures against Bologna and Roma.

In the pre-match press conference, Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti was asked about the fitness of Zambo Anguissa. As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Spalletti replied, “Anguissa has been called up,” meaning that he could either feature against Rangers from the start on Wednesday or come off the bench in the second half.

Napoli have already qualified for the knock-out stages of the Champions League, winning four out of four matches thus far. However, the first place in their respective group is not secured, with the difference of points between second-placed Liverpool and the Italian club standing at three.

Since making his move permanent in the summer transfer window of 2022, Anguissa has played 13 matches across all competitions. In terms of productivity, the Cameroonian midfielder has amassed three goals and five assists this season thus far. In the Champions League, he has been extremely impressive, having garnered one goal and three assists.
