Arsenal lead Osimhen race, as Man Utd monitor striker

Arsenal are currently said to be leading the race for Victor Osimhen and the player is aware of interest from English clubs.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report today that for Aurelio de Laurentiis, Osimhen’s valuation is at €100 million and anything less than that will not be considered. The striker will be considered transferrable only if that asking price is met.

Arsenal are the ‘number one contender’ for his signature, with the Gunners looking at Serie A for strikers over the last many months. They missed out on Dusan Vlahovic and Osimhen intrigues them in the same way, if not more. But because of the scale of investment, it will be important for Arsenal to qualify for the Champions League.

Man United and Newcastle are also following the striker closely. Erik ten Hag and Ralf Rangnick are considering the move and are figuring out if the striker’s profile should be seriously considered.

Newcastle did make a serious approach which was rejected and even if they will not play European football, the economic factors could be in their favour and they could offer the highest amount of money.
