Benfica v Juventus set to be played without goalline technology

The Champions League tie involving Benfica and Juventus will be played without the presence of goalline technology.

The Bianconeri just have to win their Champions League game today or they will be knocked out of the competition and will be out of contention to go through into the next round of the competition.

Marco Conterio has reported that the game will go ahead without goalline technology, as there are technical problems at the Estadio da Luz currently. The VAR will be in existence but the tech issue means that either of the teams will not be able to use goalline technology.

Juve have already lost three games so far in the group stages, as they also lost to Maccabi Haifa in the previous game. They lost 2-1 to Benfica and 2-1 to Paris Saint-Germain as well. To progress into the next round, Juve are hoping to win both games and hope that Maccabi Haifa do them a favour and pick up points against PSG and Benfica.
