Fiorentina‘s summer signing from Real Madrid, Luka Jovic, has not had the best start to his new life in Serie A as he seems busy rediscovering his form in front of the goal.
Speaking to the Serbian outlet Informer, Jovic admitted that he would need more time to cope with the unique environment in Italy. He said:
“In Florence? I was expecting a turbulent season and already after the first few games, it is clear that this will be the case. I will need time to regain my form, to stabilize myself, because I haven’t played for a long time. I’m here to work, to try to integrate as soon as possible with the rest of the team, but I’m sure everything will improve from game to game.
“Expectations are high when a Real Madrid player arrives at Fiorentina. It’s normal for the fans to expect me to make a difference right from the start. But I haven’t played in three years and it’s no surprise that it will take some time to come back.”
Since moving to Fiorentina, the 24-year-old has played nine games and has scored only one goal. If reports are understood to be true, Jovic is bound to La Viola’s contract until June 2024.
