Serie A side Fiorentina have now made first contact to sign Austrian midfielder Florian Grillitsch.
Journalist Gianluigi Longari (via Marco Conterio) has reported that La Viola have been in touch with the entourage of the midfielder, whose contract at Hoffenheim expires this summer.
It has been stated that the Austrian midfielder is not going to renew his deal with Hoffenheim, meaning that he will leave the club on a free transfer.
Roma have been linked with a move for the midfielder in the past but the Giallorossi could not sign him due to a high financial demand from the German club. Fiorentina are said to be in the market for Lucas Torreira, who will not join them permanently from Arsenal. Grillitsch could be a replacement for the Uruguayan this summer.
The 26-year-old made 18 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim during the 2021/22 campaign and he has been at the club since the summer of 2017.
