Inter not interested in Barcelona’s Jordi Alba

Inter are not interested in the possibility of signing Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba.

Reports in Spain yesterday had stated that an agreement between Barcelona and Inter for Alba was reached over a late summer move.

La Gazzetta dello Sport deny this, claiming that the Nerazzurri were certainly offered a chance to sign the left-back by intermediaries close to Barcelona, who were willing to pay 50 percent of the Spaniard’s current wages for a loan deal on deadine day.

But Inter decided that it isn’t deal that they would do because it would require too much legwork and too much financial adjustments. On top of that, Robin Gosens is now expected to stay at the club as negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen have now stalled. So signing another left wing-back makes little sense for Simone Inzaghi’s outfit.

Even if Gosens left, Borna Sosa was being eyed as a potential replacement by Piero Ausilio and Beppe Marotta.
