Juventus interested in World Cup-winning midfielder Alexis Mac Allister

Juventus, along with several other clubs around Europe, are interested in World Cup-winning Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

The 24-year-old Brighton man has emerged as a hot property around Europe after showcasing stellar performances in the World Cup, courtesy of his six appearances, a goal and an assist in the tournament. Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni’s belief in the player paid off and Mac Allister made good use of the opportunity to exhibit his dynamism, competitive ferocity and tactical sense on world football’s biggest stage. It has been clear for some time that this high-potential player won’t be staying at a Premier League mid-table outfit for long.

According to a report from la Repubblica, Bianconeri manager Massimiliano Allegri has been deeply impressed by Alexis Mac Allister during the World Cup and is expected to join the race to sign the player. Juventus have a great opportunity to sign the player soon as big-money clubs like Liverpool and Real Madrid have strayed for his fellow countryman, Enzo Fernandez.

The current Brighton midfielder is expected to cost around €35 million-€40 million which will become affordable after the imminent departures of Adrien Rabiot and Weston Mckennie as the two players are massive targets in the Premier League. Juventus are expected to stage talks with the player’s entourage in the next few weeks to test the waters and also pose a competitive position when the transfer window opens.

It is also to be noted that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a name also pursued by Allegri’s club but a bigger prospect of signing the World Cup winner will rule out any such interest.
