Uncertainty has relentlessly hounded the future of Lazio star Sergej Milinković-Savić, with the Serbian linked with a move to clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Juventus this summer.
However, as reported by Il Messaggero (via Tutto Mercato Web), Lazio could put a full stop to these reports of him leaving the Italian club by offering the midfield maestro a contract renewal sooner rather than later.
Considered one of the best midfielders in Serie A, Milinković-Savić has established himself as a talisman in the current Lazio team.
Seeing him do wonders in the middle of the park, clubs such as Juventus, Manchester United, and Arsenal have reportedly been showing interest in him for a long time. But, as of yet, there is no hint of a forthcoming bid for the 27-year-old from any of his suitors.
In the 2022/23 season, Milinković-Savić has started both games in the Italian top flight for the Biancocelesti. Now, the report suggests that he will end up staying in Rome. In that case, Lazio will also offer him a contract extension as the player’s current terms in the Italian capital expire in June 2024.
