Lazio “very close” to landing the Milan captain

The uncertainty around Alessio Romagnoli’s future at AC Milan seems to be resolving pretty rapidly, with Lazio on the brink of bringing their boyhood admirer.

According to journalist Daniele Longo, Lazio and Milan are “very close” to reaching an agreement over the summer transfer of Alessio Romagnoli.

Lazio has shown some eye-catching interest in the Milan captain in recent months. They want to unite with the former Giallorossi man as early as this summer. Romagnoli, 27, shares the same kind of affection for Lazio and prefers moving to Rome this summer.

The report understands that Igli Tare and Claudio Lotito will meet the Milan authorities in an attempt to complete the deal. The centre-back’s contract at the club will come to an end in June 2022.

Romagnoli has made 18 appearances for the Rossoneri this season but has not played for the club recently due to some fitness issues.
