Milan boss Stefano Pioli on victory over Juventus: “We played a game of incredible intensity and energy”

Following an impressive display of resilience after being battered by Chelsea during the midweek, Milan boss Stefano Pioli has expressed his thoughts to the press on the Rossonerri’s 2-0 victory over Juventus at the San Siro.

Pioli’s side showed no signs of fear as they rose to the occasion in a fixture with an immense amount of magnitude. Milan showcased fluidity and creativity within the final third as Fikayo Tomori found the back of the net from point-blank range and Brahim Diaz finished an incredible individual run as he weaved through his markers  using his mesmerizing dribbling skills.

Shortly after the vital victory, Pioli spoke in an interview with DAZN (via Tuttomercatoweb) and provided his insight on Milan’s display against the Bianconeri:

“Yes, even if we have some technical error in the game like London, but then we weren’t intimidated and we played a game of incredible intensity and energy. Technically we could have done better. We have to be a team in both phases and tonight it is. Ball possession doesn’t interest me that much, but I look at the danger and today we were dangerous “

In addition, the Italian tactician highly praised the 23 year-old Spanish international Brahim Diaz following his impressive performance under the lights of the San Siro this evening despite minimal appearances this season:

“The luck of a coach is to coach an intelligent group, which works and fights for the shirt they wear: for me it is like that. I know that in all matches there are 11 happy and 6 dissatisfied, but when you are dealing with intelligent guys, it can be done. Brahim is strong, he was the only one who could expand: I think he did well; the goal is the icing on the cake and I hope it can give him conviction. “

Milan currently find themselves  temporarily joint-first alongside Napoli and Atalanta with a total of 20 points as Pioli’s side possess a game-in-hand.
