Milan join Inter in the pursuit of Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic

It could be a significant transfer window for Nikola Milenkovic as a host of clubs is interested in making a move for the Serbian defender.

According to the Florence edition of La Repubblica (via Firenzeviola), Milan have joined Inter in the race for Nikola Milenkovic.

The report suggests that Milan have already lost the race for Sven Botman to Premier League’s Newcastle United despite leading the chase for a long time.

With Botman closing in on joining the English club, Milan have started looking at the alternatives. Over the last few years, Milenkovic has been a popular figure in the transfer market, with teams from all parts of Europe making enquiries about the Serbia international.

The 24-year-old has a contract with the Florence-based club until June 2023. But the defender could change his team this summer, with La Viola identifying Marcos Senesi of Feyenoord as a potential replacement for the ex-Partizan star.

Fiorentina are reportedly waiting for the best offer. As reported previously, Inter, however, have Gleison Bremer higher on the priority list. The list also includes Leicester City Çağlar Söyüncü, who has a contract at the Premier League side until June 2023.
