Milan’s contract talks for Rafael Leao expected to be difficult amidst Chelsea interest

Milan’s contract talks for winger Rafael Leao are expected to be difficult following the meeting between the two parties today.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that the entourage of the player and the Rossoneri met today and while Leao’s father was expected to join, he left Milan after the Grand Gala yesterday. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara were present at the meeting and so was the player’s lawyer Ted Dimvula and one of his close associates.

The meeting lasted an hour and parties will meet again at some point in the future. The meeting today wasn’t expected to be decisive anyway and it wasn’t, Milan only wanted to be sure of the agents they had to deal with for the renewal because there have been regular movements on that front.

Dimvula wanted to reiterate that Milan will have to deal with him and that’s it. The mandate of Rafael Leao is in his hands. Negotiations though, are expected to be long and difficult, with the Rossoneri expected to present an important offer to the Portuguese and the club don’t want to interfere in the legal matters around the winger as they believe them to be his personal issues.

Gianluca di Marzio had told Wettfreunde recently that Chelsea remain interested in the ex-Lille man.
