Going into the opening matchday of the Champions League 2022/23, Napoli could miss the service of Victor Osimhen for their curtain-raiser against Liverpool.
According to what is reported by Sky Italia, Victor Osimhen has sustained a muscle strain, which could lead to his dismissal from the midweek’s mega affair against Liverpool.
Napoli host the 19-time English champions on Wednesday evening. As per the latest on the striker’s fitness, the 23-year-old completed personalized training on Monday.
With Hirving Lozano also missing through an injury, Osimhen’s absence could be a massive blow ahead of the game against the Premier League club. The report claims that Osimhen is understood to have sustained the knock at the end of their weekend’s match against Lazio.
Several reports have also suggested that Giacomo Raspadori could get the nod and play as a false nine if the Nigerian eventually fails to make the squad for the game against the Reds. Meanwhile, Lozano underwent radiological checks at the Pineta Grande clinic this morning. It is expected that Kim Min-jae will be available for the Liverpool game amid concerns over his fitness.
