Serie A PREVIEW | Napoli vs Sassuolo

Unbeaten across all competitions, Napoli are set to host Sassuolo in an early fixture on Saturday.

Napoli have not given any hint to doubt their proficiency this season, having amassed nine wins and drawn two out of 11 Serie A fixtures thus far.

Luciano Spalletti’s side is currently considered one of the most feared sides across Europe at the moment. But they will have to keep up with their consistency to accomplish their seasonal ambition to lift the coveted Scudetto.

Sassuolo have blown hot and cold this season, having lost four and drawn three matches from 11 games in Serie A this term. They currently stand 9th on the table with 15 points from 11 matches. Although beating the league leaders does appear to be a daunting task for Alessio Dionisi’steam, it would not be surprising if they could put an end to Napoli’s unbeaten streak.

Results in the last five matches in all competitions:

Napoli: W-W-W-W-W

Sassuolo: W-W-L-L-W

Team News

The hosts don’t have major worries in the fitness department, with André-Frank Zambo Anguissa set to start against Sassuolo. Among the absentees, there are Salvatore Sirigu and Amir Rrahmani. In the absence of the Albanian international, Juan Jesus should make Spalletti’s starting XI.

Mert Müldür remains a long-term absentee for the Neroverdi along with Grégoire Defrel. While the full-back has been struggling with an ankle injury for a long time, the forward is making recovery from a metatarsal fracture. Domenico Berardi and Filippo Romagna are the doubts. Armand Laurienté could make another appearance in the forward line for the visitors.
