Serie A side Monza make contact for former Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani

Newly promoted Serie A side Monza have made contact for the signing of former Manchester United and Napoli striker Edinson Cavani.

Cavani’s contract with United expired at the end of last month and he is now a free agent, while currently being with the Uruguayan national team.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Monza are looking to make a vital striker signing, amidst links with Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi – for whom contact was made by the newly promoted side. Cavani’s intermediaries have been in touch with people from Monza – Adriano Galliani, specifically.

Cavani is still waiting to make a decision about his future and it remains to be seen if he will give an approval to a move to Monza or not. He is waiting calmly to make a call about his next move.

Galliani’s club are also interested in Andrea Pinamonti and Andrea Petagna but no talks have taken place for either player.
