Tottenham tried swap deal involving midfielders with Milan

Tottenham had tried to operate a potential swap deal with Milan but the move failed to materialise.

Marco Conterio has reported that Tanguy Ndombele is now on the verge of returning to his former club Lyon on an initial loan deal. The loan fee will be €3 million and the parties will talk about a potential sale in the summer.

But the journalist provides some background about the situation of the player, reporting that Spurs had talked to Milan in the last few days about a swap involving Ndombele and Franck Kessie. Fabio Paratici wanted to take the player to Spurs this month while inserting Ndombele in the deal, so that Tottenham wouldn’t have to pay cash.

Despite the fact that Kessie isn’t renewing his deal at Milan, the Rossoneri didn’t take the offer and they would prefer letting him leave for free.
