Antonio Conte rejects Napoli once again as Igor Tudor approaches manager role

Napoli faced rejection in their pursuit of former Tottenham boss Antonio Conte once again recently.

With Rudi Garcia on his way out of the club after the loss to Empoli, Napoli seem to be nearing a move for ex-Verona boss Igor Tudor. But it seems as if Aurelio de Laurentiis did make another attempt to land Antonio Conte, who had turned the Partenopei down a month ago.

SportItalia (via CN24) have reported that De Laurentiis wanted to go back to Conte and an approach was made late yesterday. But the Napoli CEO faced rejection, despite having promised that Conte’s friend Gianluca Petrachi would get the role of a sporting director at the Partenopei.

Now, it seems as if Tudor is all but destined to land the role. Sky Italia (via CN24) report that he has accepted to take over the job on an initial six-month deal, with Corriere dello Sport stating that the move would be finalised tomorrow and made official soon. And quickly enough, Rudi Garcia’s exit from the club will also be announced.
