Christophe Galtier and Rudi Garcia in pole position to become Napoli boss

Paris Saint-Germain’s Christophe Galtier and ex-Roma and Lyon boss Rudi Garcia are currently leading the race to become the next manager.

Now that Vincenzo Italiano is set to stay at Fiorentina, Aurelio de Laurentiis is ramping up his chase for a Luciano Spalletti replacement. Il Mattino today state that he is looking for an international profile and Garcia’s name has climbed up the shortlist in recent hours.

Garcia knows Serie A well from his time at Roma and knows Italian very well. De Laurentiis has already spoken to the ex-Al Nassr boss about the role at Napoli.

When it comes to Galtier, there has already been contact for him – as reported previously. He is close to leaving PSG and that will help De Laurentiis, who is keen on not paying a compensation fee. Bringing in Galtier could also help De Laurentiis keep Victor Osimhen, who played under the Frenchman during his time at Lille.

Zinedine Zidane is also a suggestion and so is Roberto de Zerbi, who remains keen on staying at Brighton.
