Dybala set to miss Verona clash through injury

Paulo Dybala is expected to miss Roma’s upcoming Serie A clash against Verona this Sunday.

The Argentinian forward felt discomfort in his left thigh yesterday in the Giallorossi’s Europa League 1-0 defeat against Salzburg. Dybala was substituted midway through the match and medical tests were run this morning.

According to a report from Sky Italia, Dybala hasn’t suffered any major injuries but he has sustained an overload in his left thigh flexor. The overload will be assessed in the next few days and as things stand, he will be put on rest against Verona to have him ready for the second leg against Salzburg.

This will be accounted as La Joya’s second injury during the season. He has played 22 games for Roma till now and has been crucial to their climb by scoring 11 goals. It is expected to be a race against time but it would be a major boost for Jose Mourinho to have him back next week and possibly progress through the knockouts of the Europa League.
