Four-year ban requested on Paul Pogba by doping prosecutor

The doping prosecutor has asked for a four-year ban on Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

Sky Italia and a host of other outlets in Italy have provided an update about the situation of Pogba. Previously, it was reported that the Frenchman would be handed a ban of around two years but it has now been reported in Italy that the doping prosecutor in the country has asked for a four-year-long ban to be imposed on the midfielder.

Pogba was previously found positive for doping and the counter-analysis confirmed that, with the midfielder suspended by Juventus since September. No plea deal has been put forward by the player, with the four-year ban asked by National Anti-Doping Prosecutor’s Office.

Pogba will soon go on trial in front of the National Anti-Doping Prosecutor and the four-year ban has been asked for, if a plea bargain isn’t asked for in the future.

It was previously suggested that a plea bargain would be asked for if an unintentionality in the action was proved and the ban would therefore be reduced. But that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
