Friction between Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri and sporting director Igli Tare

There has recently been renewed tension between Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri and the club’s sporting director Igli Tare.

The Biancocelesti exited the UEFA Conference League recently after a defeat to AZ Alkmaar and this led to Sarri stating that the club doesn’t have the squad to compete on three fronts and that is bringing about bad results in European competitions, ever since they were in the Europa League.

But Il Messaggero (via TMW) state today that the relationship between Sarri and Tare continues to go sour. There was friction between them at the hotel after the loss to AZ and the discussions also involved some screaming.

When the squad returned to the Formello yesterday, there was a fair bit of coldness between the two and there is a growing feeling that they can’t co-exist at Lazio. One of them would have to leave the club.

Claudio Lotito is expected to intervene in the situation today and he will have to make a decision soon. But all of it depends on how the season ends and that could decide Sarri’s future at the club.
