Genoa involved in collaboration with Rita Ora as part 130-year anniversary campaign

Serie A side Genoa were recently involved in a collaboration with British singer Rita Ora.

The British popstar posted pictures on her Instagram handle and they had her donning the Rossoblu’s colours as part of the club’s ‘Dark Golden Side of City’ campaign, which is now up and running. The campaign and the special 130-year anniversary jersey is a hallmark of the club’s heritage and rich history, with Genoa set to wear the same jersey during their upcoming Serie A clash against Inter on Friday.

Club CEO Andres Blazquez stated: “Genoa CFC is a historic club, with a cosmopolitan origin and reality. Since the new ownership took over the club, we want to further highlight the powerful Genoa brand and engage with influencers and celebrities who love football and identify with our brand values and history. We believe this is a great way to expose Genoa CFC to new audiences around the world.”

The activation is part of a larger campaign by Genoa to promote the club’s history as they also posted videos and pictures that mark the celebration.

The jersey which marks the 130-year anniversary celebration was initially presented at the Palazzi dei Rolli in Genoa. The campaign is an attempt at expanding the club’s brand to international territories and to tap into bigger audiences, with the jersey a fitting marker of the initiative.
