Inter accelerate move for Porto’s Mehdi Taremi

Serie A giants Inter are accelerating their move for Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, who was close to joining Milan in the summer.

Carlo Laudisa has reported that Inter want to beat competition from other clubs to sign Taremi in January for a cut-price fee, with the Iran international’s current deal running out in the summer. They have already accelerated their move for the striker and work is being done in the background.

A lot of it will depend on how much Porto will demand and whether Taremi will want to leave the Portuguese club mid-season, or will he want to want till the summer to earn a potentially richer contract.

Since Marko Arnautovic is injured and Alexis Sanchez is struggling for goals, Inter want to hand Simone Inzaghi a striker who guarantees goals, with the club not just aiming to win the Serie A but also looking to go beyond the Round of 16 in the Champions League.

Another player liked is Chelsea’s Armando Broja, with the Blues interested in loaning out the striker in January. But as of now, Broja is only an alternative to Taremi.
