Inter central midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu ahead of Champions League final: “We will put our hearts on the field, leaving everything we have inside”

Inter central midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu expressed his emotions and the state of mind of the Nerazzurri ahead of the Champions League final against Manchester City.

The 28 year-old Turkish international was vital within Inzaghi’s side’s incredible run this season, amassing five goals and seven assists across all competitions for the Beneamata while filling the regista role for the majority of the second half of the season as a result of Marcelo Brozovic being forced to the sidelines due to injury.

The Nerazzurri have a chance to attain their first Champions League title in 13 years, since they last won it under Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho.

While talking in an interview with Sky Italia, via FcInterNews, The Turkish central play-maker touched upon his thoughts as the final approaches quickly:

“We will continue to do what we have done so far, we will play our game as always. We all know Manchester City are strong but we can’t wait to get on the pitch. We want to write history, Inter have not reached the final for 13 years and tomorrow we will have a great opportunity. Last year we did well in the Champions League but lost against strong opponents. We have improved in the game but also mentally, we have played many finals.

“Tomorrow will be complicated, but we will give everything to win. We are also prepared to suffer, they play well. We will put our hearts on the field, leaving everything we have inside. I’m very confident.”
