Inter likely to battle Roma for Alvaro Morata

Last season’s Champions League finalists Inter seem likely to battle Roma for the signature of Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state that Inter have lined up multiple alternative options to Romelu Lukaku and Morata seems to be at the top of the list because he offers Serie A experience. Simone Inzaghi is pushing for a move for the Spaniard, who is waiting for his contract renewal with Atleti to be done.

It will make sure that his release clause will go from being €20 million to €12 million, even though he will earn less. Roma are looking at him and are offering him a deal worth €4.5 million per season in a contract till the summer of 2027. Inter’s liking and their move could change the scenario completely, as Beppe Marotta knows Morata well.

Mehdi Taremi is also an option but he would likely cost more than Morata as he is valued at around €20 million right now.
