Inter set to negotiate new Henrikh Mkhitaryan contract

Inter want to extend Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s stay at the club and have accelerated talks for his renewal.

La Gazzetta dello Sport today have reported that Simone Inzaghi considers Mkhitaryan to be an important player for his system this season and despite the fact that he will turn 35 soon, they want to keep him. The Armenian’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2024 but Inter aren’t lookig to wait that long and want to renew as quickly as they can.

Contacts with his agent Rafaela Pimenta will restart soon and the likelihood is that a one-year deal will be offered to him but there could be an option for an extension for another campaign. Mkhitaryan is likely to ask for a two-year deal and that could be a key pointer to negotiate on in the new deal, with the player happy with the current wages on offer.

Soon, Inter will also discuss the future of Denzel Dumfries and they are looking to seal a new deal for the Dutchman by next summer.
