Inter unlikely to move for Porto’s Mehdi Taremi in January

Inter are unlikely to move for Porto striker in the January transfer window but he could become a key target in the summer.

Taremi was heavily linked with a move to the club in the summer and Milan were also very interested in signing the striker. Speculation has suggested that Taremi could be a target in the January transfer window for the Nerazzurri.

But Inter journalist Fabrizio Biasin has revealed that Taremi is unlikely to be of major interest to Inter in January, with the Iran international’s contract running out in the summer of 2024.

Biasin told TeleLombardia (via FCInter1908): “Taremi in January? That there might be interest in a free transfer in June. Therefore, Taremi is certainly of interest, as are Djalò and Zielinski, and I haven’t mentioned names at random. On January, however, I take 50 steps back, because it all depends on what Arnautovic and Sanchez will do.”

Both Tiago Djalo and Piotr Zielinski have also been linked with Inter and both of their contracts are running out in the summer of 2024, making them attractive options for Beppe Marotta, who has made a name for himself by making cheap and effective signings. Taremi also drew links with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and it remains to be seen where his future lies.
