Jose Mourinho on his Roma future: โ€œAt the moment, there is nothingโ€

Roma boss Jose Mourinho has spoken about his future at the club, stating that no progress has been made on that front.

Mourinhoโ€™s current deal at Roma expires in the summer of 2024 and as things stand, he seems close to the clubโ€™s exit door at the end of the season unless some progress regarding a new deal is made. It was reported recently that the clubโ€™s owners have opened up to the possibility of a new deal.

But Mourinho was asked about any progress that has been made regarding his future and contract, but the Portuguese revealed that no discussions have taken place about his future at the Olimpico.

He said (via Sky Italia): โ€œThis is a hypothetical question and I wonโ€™t answer. At the moment there is nothing, itโ€™s just โ€˜if, if, ifโ€™. I was very happy with the closeness of the club on this occasion. I canโ€™t tell you all the times I speak with the club, the relationship is excellent but we havenโ€™t discussed our future.โ€

At the end of the previous season, Mourinho seemed destined to leave the club but he stayed despite links with the Portugal national team, Paris Saint-Germain and clubs from Saudi Arabia. But despite that, it remains to be seen where the ex-Tottenham boss ends up at the end of this season.
