Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci nearing Union Berlin move

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is nearing a move to Union Berlin and is attracted by the idea of playing for the club.

The Bianconeri will be without European football this season but Union Berlin will be playing in the Champions League this season and as per Fabiana della Valle, the idea is appealing for Bonucci. The defender is very close to leaving Juventus for one last time as a player and a decisive call can arrive from Union in the next few hours.

A meeting took place yesterday involving the two sides and it has been described as ‘satisfactory’, with the German side looking for an experienced defender. Lazio are also interested but they first need to sell Mario Gila before signing another defender, making sure that Union are well ahead in the race.

Union are offering a wage of €2 million per season to Bonucci, which is lower than the €3.5 million per season he currently earns. But Juve have made it clear that they are willing to pay a part of Bonucci’s salary to help his exit and that can be a vital move in the saga.
