Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli and his lawyers are negotiating a suspension sentence in his illegal betting case.
Giovanni Albanese has reported that talks around Fagioliโs suspension are nearing the finishing line. Yesterday, a meeting took place between the Prosecutor and the playerโs own lawyers. It seems as if the authorities want a one-year-long ban, whereas the playerโs entourage are pushing to make sure that it is a ban of seven to eight months.
There is a possibility that parties could meet halfway, especially since Fagioli has helped quite a lot in the case and he was also assisted in the background by Juventus themselves. Fagioli is seeking therapy already and is talking about his issues, which suggests that he is on the path of self-improvement and he willingly opted for therapy, which is seen as another positive.
If not for his help in the case, Fagioli wouldโve still been at risk of a three-year-long ban but it has now been reduced because of how investigation of his phone made sure that other names also emerged in the case.
