Juventus’ Paul Pogba to return for Sporting clash

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is expected to return to the matchday squad for the club in the upcoming Europa League clash against Sporting.

Sky Italia state (via TMW) that Pogba is close to returning to full fitness and there is a keen expectation that he makes it to the squad for the Europa League quarter-final first leg against Sporting on Thursday. He had picked up the current injury after he had made a couple of appearances and had played about 30 minutes for the club.

Pogba has barely featured for the club since joining on a free transfer in the summer and he had picked up a knee injury during pre-season training. Instead of opting for surgery, he chose conservative therapy and also missed the World Cup.

The Europa League could be Juve’s second shot at silverware since they’re already in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, but it could be their only chance at securing Champions League football next season. Because of that, Pogba’s return could be vital for Juve.
