Juventus see Arsenal’s Thomas Partey as potential Paul Pogba replacement

With Paul Pogba’s future at Juventus increasingly uncertain, the Bianconeri are already looking around at replacements for the Frenchman and Arsenal’s Thomas Partey is a name on their shortlist.

La Repubblica’s Turin edition today has looked at potential Pogba replacements, pretty much reiterating the fact that the midfielder’s contract will be terminated if the doping test is confirmed to be positive even after the counter-analysis.

With the transfer window closed, Juve have briefly looked at the free transfers’ market but no names whet their appetite. One name from the club’s Next Gen is of interest and that is Joseph Boende. The 18-year-old is someone that Max Allegri has kept a close eye on and he is someone who has impressed, especially during training with the senior squad during pre-season.

But Pogba’s termination will make sure that Juve will save about 10 million per season in wages and that amount can be reinvested in January for another player. And an interesting name is that of Partey, who was linked with a move to Juve in the summer but talks with Arsenal over a fee never progressed.

An agreement over personal terms already exists with the player since the summer and striking a deal with Arsenal in January is expected to be difficult. But Partey is seen as someone who can make an impact, if Pogba departs.
