Inter striker Lautaro Martinezโs agent has revealed that the player rejected a major offer from the Middle East in the summer, as he wanted to stay at the Nerazzurri.
Martinez has been linked with signing a new deal at Inter, as he continues to grow in stature under Simone Inzaghi. A case can be made of the fact that he has been one of the best strikers in Europe this season.
With a renewal looking seemingly likely at this point, Martinezโs agent Alejandro Camano spoke to Tuttosport (via TMW) recently and he revealed that the Argentine rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia in the summer. When asked about whether an offer arrived, he said:
โVery true. Strange choice? It depends on for whom [we are talking about]. Itโs not for someone who keeps the life plan, the feeling of belongingness so, how well he feels in the club also because he feels valued by the club. Letโs not forget all the successes of the Nerazzurri. And weโre talking about the team that is the vice champion of Europe. Inter today is on an excellent streak of results. And Lautaro , together with his teammates and the coach, feels part of this success.โ
So far this season, the Argentine has scored 12 times in just as many Serie A games, also racking up two assists for the club. His partnership with Marcus Thuram has sparkled, despite the fact that theyโve played together only for a short period of time. He also has two goals in four Champions League games.
