Lazio president Claudio Lotito and the club’s sporting director Igli Tare are being looked at as part of the Guardia di Finanza’s capital gains investigation.
Corriere della Sera state that apart from Lotito and Tare, former Salernitana sporting director Angelo Mariano is also under investigation. Not just that but current Roma owners – the Friedkins and the former owner Jim Pallotta will also be investigated.
The authorities want to clarify the balance sheets and the hypothesis of the authorities is that those being investigated made profits by manipulating the accounting records and, in short, being silent about the true financial situations of their clubs. There finances from 2017 to 2021 are being looked at and the prices of specific deals have drawn their gaze.
There is a hypothesis that two clubs potentially struck secret agreements to hide the actual fees of transfers and further investigations will bring about more details about what truly happened.
