Premier League clubs Chelsea and Liverpool are observing the situation surrounding Victor Osimhen with Napoli.
According to Daniele Longo‘s report, the contract renewal standoff between Napoli and Victor Osimhen is opening up a future prospect for the striker to play in the Premier League.
The Nigerian wants to double his salary from the current €4.5 million to €9 million net annually. Relations between Osimhen and club CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis have been strained in recent times, therefore he is unlikely to cater to the player’s demands in the short term. However, a long-term solution is being negotiated.
The biggest problem is that of the release clause. The striker’s agent Roberto Calenda wants to keep the figure cheap but De Laurentiis is looking at a sum higher than €200 million.
This deadlock situation is constantly being monitored by several clubs around Europe. Liverpool already made some advancements by establishing direct contacts while Chelsea expressed some interest during the summer transfer window. If the impasse continues till January, a transfer to the Premier League could be a real possibility for Victor Osimhen.
