Luis Enrique makes salary demand clear to Napoli

Luis Enrique has now conveyed his salary demands to Napoli, who are keen on bringing him in as a replacement for Luciano Spalletti.

Il Mattino have reported about the Partenopei’s interest in Enrique, also stating that while Vincenzo Italiano is Aurelio de Laurentiis’ preferred option, his excellent relations with Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso mean that he will talk about the manager before a huge Conference League final. Even though Italiano’s agent Fali Ramadani is pushing for his client to make a leap to a new club, De Laurentiis is still waiting.

Meanwhile, contact was made for Enrique and that has been confirmed by multiple outlets. He has made it clear that he would be interested in joining Napoli, if he earns €8 million per season. But because of Growth Decree tax rules, that wage would go upto €11.5 million per season. Despite the gigantic figure, De Laurentiis isn’t fazed and he would not be against making an exception.

The move hasn’t taken off yet but it can take off, because Enrique would be interested in managing the club. If the Spaniard doesn’t join, the other three alternatives are Italiano, Thiago Motta and Porto boss Sergio Conceição.
