Massimiliano Allegri creates new record in Juventus’ win over Roma

Juventus’ 1-0 win against Roma helped their manager Massimiliano Allegri create a new record in Serie A.

Leading an ambitious Serie C1 team Sassuolo to gain promotion to Serie B ensured Massimiliano Allegri a managerial role with Cagliari in 2008. Since then, he has been with Milan and Juventus as he consolidated his legacy as one of the greatest coaches ever in the league with the latter club.

Allegri is the only Serie A coach to have won consecutively five Scudetto and four Coppa Italia titles. Still, despite his success, he has been subject to criticism for setting up his teams to play for a 1-0 victory, even if it needs to be a grinding task. The Italian manager himself addressed all that fuss by saying that “winning 1-0 with suffering” was his way of managing back in 2022.

With the narrow win over Roma last night, Juventus consolidated their position at 2nd place and Massimiliano Allegri created a new record as he has now registered 76 victories ending with a scoreline of 1-0 across his Serie A managerial career.

The Bianconeri still remain in firm contention to clinch the Scudetto for this season thanks to an impressive rebuilding job done by their 56-year-old manager. Allegri is a legend in the pages of Italian Football. Securing the Scudetto will just be an icing on the cake for him.
