Napoli winger Matteo Politano is edging close to signing a new contract at the club after having impressed for the club this season.
Politano was on the scoresheet for the Partenopei against Milan and he had sparkled in that game, having done well throughout the campaign and being one Rudi Garcia’s most trusted performers.
Il Mattino state that CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis has been left impressed by Politano’s performances and with the Italian’s contract running out in 2025, he wants to tie him down to a new deal. A meeting for the renewal will take place next week and it is likely to take place on Thursday.
Politano wants to sign a three-year extension and he would like to earn €2.5 million per season, which would be an upgrade on the current wage of €2.2 million per season. A general agreement has already been reached internally and it would only have to be worked on further and it seems as if the renewal is indeed close.
