Milan CEO confirms talks over Zlatan Ibrahimović return

Zlatan Ibrahimović retired from football at the end of last season but it seems that his chapter at Milan might not be over yet.

Ibrahimović has been cryptically teasing a return to Milan on social media and today the club’s managing director, Giorgio Furlani, was speaking to Sky Italia and kept the rumour mill going. He said: “Ibra? We’re been talking for months, we’ll see what happens.”

The Swede is expected to come back as part of Stefano Pioli’s coaching staff or in some management role. Having just retired and been inside the changing room, Ibra will have a very up to date knowledge of what the players want as well as the experience to join the coaches and help to improve things at the club.

The veteran striker’s return to Milan is something that the club can look forward to as they face an otherwise tough time currently. They sit on the brink of a Champions League group stage exit and and their recent form is disastrous.

They have lost three out of their last four games and are slipping down the Serie A table.
