Milan keen on January move for Nicolo Zaniolo

Milan are still hunting to land Nicolo Zaniolo’s signature, who was forced to leave Roma this winter in an exciting turn of events.

According to a report from Daniele Longo of Calcio Mercato, Milan legend and director Paolo Maldini is a great admirer of Zaniolo and sees potential in him if he is developed in a certain way. Maldini reportedly thanked the Italian midfielder for waiting for the Rossoneri until the deadline day.

Milan could only test the waters at Roma who were desperate to offload Zaniolo this winter. They weren’t able to match the €15 million plus bonuses offer and that left Galatasaray clean through on the deal.

It is expected that both parties will again meet in June and Milan will decide whether to pay the €35 million release clause that makes the 23-year-old a Rossoneri. Zaniolo is aware of this prospect and will try his best to recover form at Turkey and set up a potential return for him to Italy.
