With every minute that passes, it seems like the situation between Nicolò Zaniolo and Roma becomes worse and worse. AC Milan could yet offer a solution.
The 23-year-old Zaniolo has made his desire to leave Roma this transfer window more than clear. Premier League side Bournemouth pleased the team from the capital with their offer, but Zaniolo himself did not fancy a move to the south coast of England. He would like to join Milan, La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin explains exclusively to Get Italian Football News.
“I do not consider the deal completely off, even if it is very unlikely at the moment. Milan like the player and Zaniolo likes Milan. The club is ready to sign him on loan, not to pay €30m for him. And Roma until now are not available for a loan.”
Bianchin added that the loan could include an obligation to buy if Milan reach the Champions League.
José Mourinho, during today’s press conference ahead of Roma’s clash with Napoli on Sunday evening, showcased his dissatisfaction with Zaniolo, who was not called up for Sunday’s game. “Zaniolo told me he doesn’t want to play for us anymore, that he doesn’t want to train with the team, so that’s why I say that he will unfortunately stay with us after all”, the Portugese coach had stated.
Milan had previously made it clear that they have pulled out of the chase and Tottenham could never meet the asking price Roma had set for him.
